Everyone likes beer on St. Patrick’s Day, or at least feels obliged to drink some. If you drop by Ale Yeah, a new beer package shop, you can buy at least six brands of Irish beer to try. They have Guinness, Harp, Porterhouse, Rogue’s Irish Lager, and several others I have never heard of. Ale Yeah, opened a few months now, is a shop specializing in craft beers. Want some cheese, chocolate, or ham to pair with your beer? They have those also, as well as some glasses in which to pour your brew. You can even buy suppies to make your own brews. But, don’t go expecting to buy a Bud — only micro brews are sold here. Ale Yeah is at 906 College Avenue, just down the street from Agnes Scott College.

Here’s a deal for you. Print a coupon for free homemade potato chips and onion dip at Ted’s Montana Grill. Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/gyRzX6.  After finishing those off, you can order a healthy steak salad. Both are new to the Ted’s menu.  The deal is good now through May 1, 2011.

About mickeybaskett

It wouldn’t be prudent to disclose the number of years Mickey Baskett has been writing, editing, and producing art, craft, and lifestyle do-it-yourself books -- just know that she was intimately involved with Mac-rame in the day. The beginning of her love affair with food started when she was nine years old and manifested itself in the form of a casserole. Her published cookbook, Gourmet Garnishes, is proof of that long and loving relationship. The constantly evolving food scene in Decatur is fodder for her musings.
